Orumichoronam: SMBG's Onam Celebration 2K23 at Sajja, Sharjah

Orumichoronam SMBG celebrated On the vibrant afternoon of August 26, 2023, something remarkable unfolded at SMBG's warehouse in Sajja, Sharjah. The atmosphere was alive with anticipation and excitement as the staff gathered for a grand celebration of Onam, the traditional harvest festival of Kerala, India. With an abundance of enthusiasm and unity, this event turned out to be an unforgettable day filled with cultural immersion, delicious feasting, and exhilarating games.





A Feast for the Senses: The Onam celebration kicked off in true Kerala style, with a magnificent Onam sadya, a traditional vegetarian feast served on banana leaves. A remarkable display of culinary mastery, the sadya comprised an impressive array of 30 mouthwatering dishes. From the aromatic fragrance of spices to the vibrant colors of various curries, each bite was a symphony of flavors that paid homage to Kerala's rich gastronomic heritage.




Fun and Games Unleashed: Following the sumptuous feast, the atmosphere transformed into a carnival of laughter and camaraderie with a series of exciting games. To ignite the spirit of competition, the entire staff was divided into four houses: Puliyattam Panthers, Maveli's Marvels, Vamanan's Vanguard, and Thiruvathira Thunders. The enthusiasm was palpable as each house poured their hearts into the games.

The afternoon was a medley of entertainment, featuring games like "Sundarikk Pottuthodal" (Bindi Placing), where Mr. Niyas triumphed by placing the bindi spot-on. The "Lemon Spoon" game was won by Mr. Shibin, while the Balloon Passing game saw Mrs. Aseela emerge victorious. However, the ultimate test of strength and unity awaited in the form of the fiercely anticipated "Tug of War" challenge.




Unity in Strength: The Tug of War was a spectacle that captured the spirit of the celebration. Each of the four teams demonstrated unwavering determination, pulling with all their might. In a display of sheer teamwork and resilience, the Puliyattam Panthers emerged victorious, earning both the admiration of their colleagues and a substantial prize.



Acknowledging Excellence: As the festivities drew to a close, Mr. Ahammed Muneer Kari, the Group General Manager of SMBG, took the stage to express his appreciation for the HR and marketing teams and all departments involved in orchestrating this remarkable event. The winning team, Puliyattam Panthers, was celebrated and rewarded with a generous prize of 1001 AED for their outstanding performance.


A Distinguished Gathering: The celebration was graced by the presence of several esteemed individuals from the SMBG leadership team, including Business Development Manager Mr. Nicolas Platis, Head of General Trading Mr. Nidhin Alias Isac, and Regional Sales Manager Mr. Rehan Babar, Operation Manager Mr. Raashid Ellath. The occasion was made even more special with the presence of HR Manager Sijin and Marketing Manager Anzil Ahammed.
